The National Advocacy & Training Network (NATN) is a proud partner of Desert Biofuels Initiative, an Arizona-based non-profit social venture aimed at removing any practical and legal/regulatory obstacles that stand in the way of the development of a robust biofuels infrastructure in the Valley of the Sun. Their goal is to foster an environment where the local biofuels vision can flourish in the Phoenix area and throughout Arizona. NATN’s social venture and job-training program, Cup O’ Karma: Community Café for a Cause, is collecting coffee grounds for Desert Biofuels Initiative. They will test the coffee grounds to determine how much oil is present, extract the residual oil, turn it into biodiesel, and document the process via pictures, video and blog(s), from start to finish.
